Totally Tubular

Today we wrapped up Catholic Schools Week..The kids went bowling and they had the teacher gift basket raffle...my kiddos didn't win any cool baskets but the teachers had some creative ideas...at least they have many more years to get lucky and win. Today's theme was dress like the 80's. So much fun and thanks goodness the 80's are back in style in kid's stores. I was able to find all sorts of things...especially for Quinn(paint splatter bracelets..lot's of neon, lace hear band. Some of the teachers had some awesome outfits...think Valley Girl(the movie) or Cyndi Lauper. I also spent all day helping decorate for our annual school wine tasting/auction.It's our five year anniversary. It's wonderful to be part of a school where the parents are soo involved. There were a ton of people there..ready to do whatever anyone asked.Got to catch up with people and met some new parents. They feed us breakfast and lunch too. Looking foward to tomorrow night. Hope we raise lots of $$$$$ for our school.

Fabulous Fifties

The kid's school is celebrating Catholic Schools Week and each day involves dressing in the style of a different decade and a red, white, and blue patriotic day. Monday was 50's day. Thanks to my friend Kathy for loaning us Q's poodle skirt. The teachers have raffles for cool gift baskets, there are special activities all week ending with bowling on Friday and our school auction/wine tasting Saturday evening.

Basketball and Snowgirl

Cooper had another basketball game this weekend and I actually remembered to bring the camera. Earlier in the week we played a team that was awesome. Although I'm not sure the boys were 2nd and 3rd graders. They looked way older and they looked like they have been playing since they could walk.Anyway, Cooper's team got creamed. Cooper wanted to quit(Mr. Perfectionist) so we had to explain that you don't win every game and sometimes you'll lose more than you win. And that he would let his team down. Good learning lesson for sure. This weekend's game both teams were evenly matched skill wise. Cooper had 3 fouls! and actually got to dribble and try for a couple of baskets so hoping that boosted his confidence. Although, I feel this may be his one and only attempt at basketball.Good thing we only have four weeks left! Soccer and football are tops in his heart at this point

My little can't play by yourself kid actually spent almost 2 hours outside on her own playing in the snow....we took pics to prove it.Ron busted her eating snow...gross!!

Quinn and her somewhat creepy snowgirl.

Enjoying some well deserved hot cocoa

Thursday Thoughts

Quinn is my little fish. She is two weeks into her 45 minute class and is enjoying it immensely.
Ron and I had a fun Monday(he was off from work)and went to see a movie and have lunch together and popped into a couple of stores.
had a blast with two of my friends(our daughters all take dance together)at a local pizza/bar for a glass of wine and some laughs(mostly related to bar bingo!)That hour goes by way too fast.
been to the gym twice already..did a great class taught by a friend...and am going tomorrow to a class called No limits..haven't taken it in about a year.Yikes! workout friends=motivation for me though.
Looking foward to Cooper's basketball game tonight and will remember to bring my camera..
been chained to the house all day while the electrician is here...I want things done and I want it done fast,he still will have to come finish up next week.ugh! HGTV makes it all look sooo easy. Can't the project be done in 30 minutes?
have been enjoying our warm front..no gloves or hat...I know, I live on the edge..
I am in the middle of cleaning out all my scrapbook stuff...way too much and need to pare down.Want to be like my friend Sarah who is going all digital...she has had her blog from 2007 and 2008 made into books and I am extremely JEALOUS..they look awesome and there is no crap to store in your house. And so much fun to look at..what a cool way to document the family and how fun for the kids to have when they are older. Heck, I just want to try an online book from Shutterfly at this point...I tried, but it wasn't working...I'll need some help.I will probably still old school scrapbook some too, but I went a little overboard on product.
I just completed my second book on my Kindle.I am really loving it..so fun(and much cheaper)and my favorite..I don't have to find a place to store the book when I am done..all about conquering the clutter.
I am loving that good tv is finally back....Big Love,Modern Family, the Middle, Cougar Town, and many more.My DVR is going to be working overtime. and of course my embarssing to admit but still love anyway-Jersey Shore, Toddlers and Tiaras, and the Real Housewives series. There is a bunch more but I don't want to make myself look too bad!

Playdates for All

The kids are back in school and I have been cleaning out and organizing. My friend Kathy and I took a trip to The Container Store and had lunch at Cheescake Factory...we had fun catching up and talking about an upcoming trip we are taking together.Ron went out Friday and Saturday nights with pals and the kids had two playdates Sunday....they had a great time at both. While they were at their friends Ron and I went to Home Depot and Homegoods...the kids were soo relieved they missed that! Then, their friends from school came over to our house....the kids played so well...no fighting so it was perfect. They even got to go outside because it was a balmy 15 degrees.

Ringing in the New Year!

It's been a fun week. Ron only worked two days so we've all been able to spend a lot of time together.Sadly, it's become ridiculously cold so the kids have had to spend a ton of time inside. We managed to hang out with some friends during the week, go to Adventure Park(an indoor playland)have our friends Jodi and Justin and their 3 girls come to dinner, and go to the Science Museum with a trip to Snuffy's(a local malt shop). We also went to dinner on New Years Eve and then everybody came back to our house to hang out.I am looking foward to a great 2010
